In current emerging industrial paradigm, AI integrates seamlessly with human expertise to enhance productivity, innovation, and customization. AI systems, through advanced machine learning and data analytics, can codify and optimize complex procedures, enabling real-time decision-making and adaptive learning within industrial processes. This symbiotic relationship between AI and human workers facilitates smarter, more efficient manufacturing environments where machines can autonomously perform routine tasks, diagnose issues, and predict maintenance needs, while humans focus on creative and strategic activities. AI’s ability to process and analyze vast amounts of data allows for continuous improvement and personalization in production, aligning with the core values of Industry 5.0, which emphasize human-centric, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing systems.

The PERKS project supports the holistic governance of industrial PK in its entire life cycle, from elicitation to management and from access to exploitation. PERKS bases its solutions on leading-edge AI (both symbolic and subsymbolic) and data technologies, by advancing and integrating existing methodologies and tools in terms of readiness, flexibility and user acceptance. Besides AI and data, the third pillar of PERKS consists of people: the goal is to put industry workers at the centre, in line with the Industry 5.0 vision, to satisfy their concrete needs, to provide AI-powered digital tools to perform their tasks better and more easily, following a human-in-the-loop paradigm to enhance the technologies and the solutions.

This workshop (organized by PERKS project) aims at exploring a wide range of the industrial applications of procedural knowledge in Industry 5.0. For this purpose, the workshop starts with the industrial applications and use-cases in PERKS but will move beyond to co-define with experts the further use-cases, prioritize them and define a roadmap for their deployment. The workshop will be an interactive session in which the participants can work together and co-define use-cases and their characteristics.

This workshop is the first transferability workshop of PERKS and a second workshop will be held in 2026.

Who should attend?
